Description
The low back W1i Tillett car seat is available either in a single skin form or with a self supporting floor mountable back frame. It is an ideal replacement seat for a period look in classic cars, having been installed into various historic racing and road-going cars. The no-backframe version has also been used in sail boats and other installations where it can be directly glassed into the hull or chassis. This version does require the creation of at least a multi-point mounting structure or be directly integrated.
Three types of our finish are available:
- Lightweight W1K handmade epoxy carbon Kevlar version
- Injected W1i black GRP
- W1i in Carbon/GRP which has an aesthetic layer of carbon fiber on the seating surface.
These seats can also be ordered with a seat covering made of the same material as Tillett’s kart racing seats which grips the body offering a small amount of vibration damping. A half covered example is ideal for open top cars. An alternative and popular covering option is a Dinamica® suede two-piece seat pad set listed as a configurable option.
A set of lap belt holes and a center strap hole are included with every seat. To mount the seat, the TK5 fitment kit provides the hardware compatible with most cars.
When ordered with the back frame, the seat can also be configured with side mounts allowing various L-shaped brackets to be used to install the seat. Please contact us if you want to order this option which is a special order item.
