The Cartek Motorsport GT Battery Isolator is a very small and highly reliable alternative to the traditional mechanical master-switch. The unit has been designed to overcome all of the problems and restrictions associated with mechanical and electro/mechanical safety cut-outs. When fitted to a race car this solid state battery isolator simultaneously isolates the battery and kills the engine immediately when triggered in accordance with FIA safety regulations. This system has been designed to simplify installation thereby saving time and reducing build costs. Features

How it WorksThe Cartek Battery Isolator GT provides two functions. The first is to disconnect the Battery from all Electrical Circuits. The second is to kill the engine. Battery IsolationBattery Isolators work by being fitted in between the negative side of the battery and the chassis. When the external kill button has been activated or the internal button been switched to the off state, then the Battery Isolator will disconnect the negative side of the battery from the Chassis. This means that no power can get to any of the electrical circuits as there is a break in the circuit. Engine KillThis unit does not have a power input or power output. Instead it sends a signal (12v 0.2a when on, switched to chassis/earth when off) which is wired up to either a Power Distribution Module or Motorsport ECU that has an ignition switch signal input. The ECU or Power Distribution Module will then shut down when it see’s this signal – which then kills the engine. Built in ProtectionThe Cartek Battery Isolator XR comes with built in alternator run down protection meaning no extra wiring and no extra components. How Is It Controlled?The two electronic isolation circuits are controlled by microprocessors and incorporate various safety systems including over-temperature and over-current monitoring. AEM has updated its CD-7 Digital Dash Display from an aluminum enclosure to a carbon fiber composite enclosure and in the process has reduced its mass from 740g/26.1 oz. to only 595g/20.9oz. That’s almost 1/3rd lbs. less and makes the CD-7 Carbon the lightest graphical dash of its size among major competitors! The new CD-7 Carbon digital displays also have optional integrated 20Hz GPS, which replaces the dash packages that included a Vehicle Dynamics Module. Of course, the Vehicle Dynamics Module still works with any CD Digital Dash Display and can be purchased separately.

Overview

CD-7 Carbon Digital Dash Displays feature a full-color, daylight readable screen surrounded by a tough, lightweight flow-molded carbon fiber composite housing. Seven ultra-bright LEDs span the top of the display housing for RPM and shift light indication. Users can program them to ascend in specific increments based on RPM range and flash when it is time to shift. Brightness is user programmable on the fixed color LEDs. Two large buttons are included on the face of the display, allowing easy page changing and memory resetting even with driving gloves on. These button functions are included in the supplied rear connector, allowing the user to mount remote buttons. Two additional programmable LEDs are located above the toggle buttons on the top of the housing on either side of the integrated LED shift lights.

View and log data from over 250 CAN devices!

The CD-7 Carbon receives channels from two independent CAN bus inputs and it does not require special modules to read AEM and/or 3rd-party CAN signals. We have validated it to communicate with over 250 non-AEM devices, 2008-up stock ECUs via the OBDII port (see Supported Apps Tab), and the CD-7 Carbon can be added to any vehicle with the addition of our 22 Channel CAN Sensor Module. The CD-7 Carbon is ECU CAN ready and does not require external modules for CAN to CAN communication, just load your configuration and go! All channels can be named in virtually any language so that the information displayed makes sense to the user when displayed, whether on the main screens or warning alerts.

Third-party systems will require download of 3rd party DBC CAN bus protocol files for proper operation if they are not included in our setup software. We currently have over 250 validated 3rd party applications, and include a CD Dash Power Cable to simplify the installation of 3rd party devices. The AEM Digital Voltmeter Gauge combines unsurpassed accuracy, speed and control with an easy-to-read digital LED interface that displays voltage in 1 volt increments, and a sweeping LED “needle” that lines the edge and moves as voltage changes from 8 to 18v. The voltmeter gauge’s digital readout will automatically increase and decrease in intensity due to the built in ambient light sensing photocell. A favorite for sedan and stock car racers, the GP-5W offers a wider eyeport and lightweight construction making for a durable and versatile helmet. Head and Neck Restraint devices with the standard 6mm helmet bolt can be easily added with the new M6 washer nut installed at the factory. The helmet is SA2020 certified.

ScLc Construction It’s constructed of Arai’s exclusive, very-lightweight ScLc shell technology (Super Complex Laminate Construction), so it maintains a low overall weight to offset the added weight of the larger shield.

Shell Shape It has a smaller, more “natural” head shape, and a lower center of gravity to balance and stabilize the helmet so it feels even lighter, thereby helping to reduce fatigue.

Interior Fit The interior fit is typical Arai, benefitting from over 50 years of research and refinement, and resulting in a helmet that, as mentioned previously, more closely matches the shape of the human head. The first is snug, allowing for the smallest possible helmet to be worn while still being comfortable.

Wider Eyeport Larger 90mm eyeport, top to bottom, than comparable Arai models, provides a better vertical view desired by many sedan drivers. For drivers not needing a shield, a visor peak option is available.

Removable/Replaceable Cheekpads The cheekpads are removable and washable for easier cleaning. More importantly, they’re replaceable with optional sizes of varying thicknesses for a more custom, personalized fit.

VentilationThe upper ventilation system incorporates two large intake ducts and the same two exhaust vent ducts found on the GP-5(PED). This vent system allows for improved air flow even within the confines of a sedan or closed cockpit.

M6 Anchor Type Integrated seats to accommodate a variety of Head and Neck Restraint devices. Pre-Installed M6 threaded washer/nut, with 6mm threads, to accept a variety of anchors systems for variety of Head and Neck Restraint devices and make installation much easier for people not familiar with such installations.
