With 16 precise clicks you can adjust the KW dampers (more firm or more comfortable) without affecting the compression damping fine-tuned by our engineers. The two-stage, patented TVR-A (Twin Valve Rebound – Adjustable) technology -nables a small volume of oil flow through an adjustable, conically shaped, low-speed bypass during low damper speeds, while at high damper speeds, the main rebound stage valve opens allowing a larger volume of oil to flow. This provides a big improvement in terms of ride comfort without influencing the high-speed range. There are 16 precise clicks available for individual settings, so you can choose between more comfort or more body control. Too much abuse can lead to a worn down rotor or worse, an unsalvageable one. Girodisc offers Replacement rings for their 2-piece systems, available in 350 or 380mm depending on your application.

Front wear can differ from rear wear, and habits and practices of driving can either lengthen or shorten the life of your components. Replace both rings at the same time to ensure future damage isn’t focused on one hub/knuckle, and to improve drivability/feel while adding safety and comfort to peace of mind.

The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc on all 981 GT4’s with OEM Iron rotors. No modifications are necessary, allows use of factory unmodified pads unlike most aftermarket solutions for this application. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OE calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight high performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency.

The central hat section of their rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from their own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc. The rotor utilizes a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.

The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 12 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.

Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
